USA Discussion Group – Policy & Rules

Applies To: All members, moderators, and contributors

1. Purpose

The USA Discussion Group exists to foster respectful, informed, and inclusive conversations about civic issues, community topics, technology, education, faith, and public affairs affecting people in the United States. Our goal is constructive dialogue, learning, and community building.

2. Eligibility

  • Members must be 18 years or older.

  • Participation is open to individuals regardless of background, beliefs, or political affiliation.

  • By joining, members agree to follow these policies and rules.

3. Community Standards

  • All members must:

  • Treat others with respect, dignity, and fairness.

  • Engage in good-faith discussion—listen, ask questions, and respond thoughtfully.

  • Focus on ideas, not personal attacks.

  • Use clear, honest language and avoid misinformation.

4. ​Prohibited Conduct

The following are not allowed:

  • Hate speech, harassment, bullying, or threats

  • Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age

  • Personal attacks, name-calling, or doxxing

  • Incitement to violence or illegal activity

  • Spam, scams, or unauthorized advertising

  • Explicit, obscene, or graphic content

  • Repeated disruption or derailing of discussions

5. Political & Civic Discussions
 

  • Diverse viewpoints are welcome.

  • Criticize policies and ideas, not people.

  • Avoid spreading unverified claims; cite sources when possible.

  • No coordinated campaigning, voter intimidation, or targeted persuasion.

6. Faith-Based Discussions
 

  • Faith-based perspectives are welcome when shared respectfully.

  • No coercion, shaming, or aggressive proselytizing.

  • Respect differences in belief and practice.

7. Content Sharing Guidelines

  • Share accurate, relevant, and appropriate content.

  • Clearly label opinions vs. facts.

  • Credit original sources when sharing articles, media, or research.

  • Do not share private or confidential information.

8. Moderation & Enforcement

Moderators may:

  • Remove content that violates these rules

  • Issue warnings or temporary mutes

  • Suspend or permanently remove members for repeated or serious violations

Decisions are made to protect the community and ensure productive discussion.

9. Reporting Issues

Members are encouraged to report:

  • Rule violations

  • Harassment or abusive behavior

  • Misinformation or harmful content

  • Reports will be reviewed confidentially by moderators.

10. Privacy & Data Use

  • Respect member privacy at all times.

  • Do not share screenshots, messages, or personal details outside the group without consent.

  • Group data may be used in aggregated, non-identifiable form for research or community improvement purposes.

11. Changes to This Policy

The USA Discussion Group may update these policies as needed. Continued participation after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised rules.

12. Agreement

By participating in the USA Discussion Group, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to follow these policies and rules.
